A 6,000-member alumni chapter. One volunteer communications chair. Twelve years of showing up.

This is what long-term brand stewardship looks like.

The proof:

The San Diego Texas Exes is the official local chapter of the Ex-Students' Association of the University of Texas at Austin—a 501(c)3 nonprofit with more than 6,000 members across San Diego County. The chapter exists for one primary purpose: funding scholarships for local students headed to UT. Every event, every sponsorship ask, and every social post is in service of that mission.

As Communications Chair since 2014, I've been the chapter's one-person marketing department—all of it, all volunteer. I built and maintained the chapter website, managed Facebook and Instagram, created social media graphics for game watches, bowl games, and chapter events, designed event collateral and annual sponsorship packets, and ran the Constant Contact email program. The work spans print, digital, email, and social, and it never really stops: football season runs into basketball season and then into baseball season, bowl games into spring events, and summer BBQ planning into fall kickoff.

The Salt Lick BBQ & Student Sendoff is our chapter's fundraiser that keeps scholarship dollars coming in every year. I designed the event flyers, sponsorship packets, and post-event recap emails year-after-year. The sponsorship packets include audience demographics, tiered benefit structures, and a donation form: the full corporate ask, designed to land with local businesses.

If you need someone who can own a brand's communications from end-to-end and keep showing up, year after year, because the mission is worth it, this is what that looks like.

Key results:
12 years of continuous brand stewardship · 6,000+ member community · Annual scholarship fundraiser collateral · Website, social, email, and print—all under one roof · Pro bono
